The Dominican women's volleyball team is back in Santo Domingo to prepare for the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix games taking place in Santo Domingo from 8-10 June 2012. In the World Grand Prix, 16 teams will battle from 8-24 June to make the finals in Ningbo, China, from 27 June to 1 July. Each week features four pools in four cities as the world's best players compete for a place in the finals.
The matches are serving as preparation for the London 2012 Olympic Games. Just last Saturday, 5 May at the Norceca Tournament, the DR, ranked sixth in the world classified to participate in women's volleyball in the Olympics (28 July to 11 August at Earls Court in London).
