Cesar Felix Felix from the Central Electoral Board (JCE) says that more than RD$200 million will be spent on Presidential election day, 20 May.
He said that figure included the wages for the people working in the 14,770 voting stations in and outside the country as well as expenses for the 50,000 military personnel who will be ensuring the security of the election.
The JCE also said that more than 90% of the documentation has been issued to the 72,300 people who will be working for the elections.
As quoted in Listin Diario, Felix said that the JCE wanted the elections to be transparent, clear and correct and that the day should be a celebration of democracy.
