Dominican-born basketball star Al Horford is credited with keeping the Atlanta Hawks in the playoffs fight. In only his second game after some four months on the floor for surgery, Horford scored 19 points, 11 rebounds, three blocks, three assists and three steals to lead the Hawks to defeat the Celtics 87-86 in the Tuesday night game and force a Game 6 in this first-round series. The Celtics lead 3-2 as the game returns to Boston.

Atlanta press says that Horford provided the Hawks with a needed jolt.

"Al Horford was absolutely huge," Hawks coach Larry Drew said. "His ability to move around at times when we were forced to make switches on defense, and his foot speed enabled him to stay with the ball. He was a superman for us down the stretch."

The coach forecast as the team readies for the playoffs: "This is the team that they thought they were going to start the season with," Rivers said. "They now have it, and now we have to deal with it."
