Learning early from his father's example that he couldn't wait for somebody else to solve a problem that he could solve himself, Dominican-born Cid Wilson was honored for his community service in his home state of New Jersey on 11 May.

He is known for a successful Wall Street career, but more for his volunteerism, struggle for civil rights and contributions to community advances.

He was honored with the inaugural Bergen County NAACP Benjamin Hooks Esq. Lifetime Member Award for his efforts on 24 April, capping off nearly 20 years of service to his community, as reported in NewJersey.com

The publication notes that Wilson was Forbes magazine's "Best Wall Street Equity Financial Analysts" list in 2006 and to a seat on President Obama's 23-member National Museum of the American Latino Commission in 2009. The commission is charged with presenting a plan for the creation of a museum honoring Latino history in America.
