Janet Rivera, wife of Ramon Mejia, son of PRD presidential candidate Hipolito Mejia, and her brother Tony Rivera, of Induveca-fame, rallied together with her father-in-law in an appeal to PRD president Miguel Vargas to join the campaign for a PRD win in the 20 May election, as reported in Hoy. Vargas, who lost to Hipolito Mejia in the primary, has kept his distance from the campaign, and not all his followers have campaigned for Mejia. Both recalled that their father always had a close relationship with Hipolito Mejia, and appealed to Vargas, who is their half-brother, to join the campaign. Mejia has been slipping in the polls as the election date approaches.
