The president of the Central Electoral Board (JCE) has told reporters from El Caribe and other media that the election agency would not try to control the social media (Twitter, Facebook etc) and its use in these or any other elections. Roberto Rosario said that it was not on the JCE agenda to attempt to regulate the use of these networks that serve as rapid access tools to information and news. He said that they provided an additional degree of transparency to the elections. Rosario said that he did not think that these digital networks would cause any disturbances on Election Day, but that they would contribute to keep things calm.
