Yesterday, Monday 14 May, the Central Electoral Board (JCE) formally invited PRD presidential candidate Hipolito Mejia to present his serious complaint that says that the PRD leadership was being subjected to "a wave of repression and a volley of pressures by state security agencies" in several parts of the country.
Diario Libre says that JCE president Roberto Rosario, who was accompanied by the other members of the Plenary, Rosario Graciano, Cesar Feliz Feliz and Jose Angel Aquino, read a document in which they formally asked the opposition party presidential candidate to file his complaint today, Tuesday 15 May. "The Central Electoral Board formally invites Agronomical Engineer Rafael Hipolito Mejia Dominguez, the presidential candidate of the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD) and its allies, to use the formality of the presentation of complaints, suggestions and recommendation through his accredited representatives or in person, if he considers it necessary," said the document.
He said that Mejia or his commissioners should deliver the complaint in writing so that the JCE may take the necessary corrective measures and so that Roberto Rosario can receive it in person in his office this afternoon. The mission from the Organization of American States (OAS) was invited to the meeting.
