The Emergency Operations Center (COE) is maintaining its Green Alert for seven provinces due to the risk of flash flooding and landslides. These provinces are Duarte (San Francisco de Macoris, especially the Lower Yuna Basin), La Vega, Monsignor Nouel (Bonao), Sanchez Ramirez (Cotui), Hermanas Mirabal (Salcedo), Santiago (including Tamboril and Navarrete) and Espaillat (Moca). The COE says that people living near rivers or streams should be on alert for instructions from local officials. According to El Nuevo Diario, the National Meteorological Office (Onamet) said that today, Tuesday 15 May and tomorrow Wednesday, 16 May there should be a reduction in the rains, with the arrival of more dry air, but there will be localized showers.
