The "Dominican Nerd Herd", computer programmers, will take part in the final phase of the International University Computer Programming Competition being held by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACMICPC) where only 100 teams out of 4,000 entries can take part. According to Listin Diario, the students from Intec (the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo), Carlos Jose Toribio and Ronald Rey Lovera, both Electronic Engineering students, and Dennis Federico Castillo, a Civil Engineering student will face off against teams from the whole world at the University of Warsaw, in Poland from 14 May to 18 May. The team won the spot in the finals as they conquered the Caribbean Section of the competition in Cuba last year.
