The local election boards of the National District and the municipalities of Santo Domingo East and North began to deliver the election materials that will be used in this Sunday's elections yesterday, Wednesday, 16 May. Beginning early, the presidents and secretaries of the voting stations arrived in the offices of the local election boards to pick up their supplies, but many had to spend three, four and up to five hours in order to receive them. In the National District, the delivery began with delays due to technical computer problems.

On the other hand, the presidents and secretaries had to wait in line under the hot sun outside the offices, leading to complaints. It was worse in Santo Domingo East, where the packs started to be handed out at noon, despite the fact that the personnel had been told to be there at 9am. The reason, according to local Election Board president Francisco Nunez, was an incident caused by citizens who were looking for their duplicate cedulas staging a small riot outside the offices and blocked the Las Americas highway.

It was different in the National District, where the presidents and delegates were seated under tents, in order, although quite hot. The deadline for the delivery of the election supplies is Friday 18 May, for the election set for Sunday, 20 May.

Each pack contains tickets, voting acts, markers, stamps, candles, matches, inkpads, adhesive tape, gloves, ballpoint pens, and ink. They also received forms, note pads, carbon paper, envelopes for the ballots, numbered tickets, posters that identify the voting station, a calculator and other supplies.
