The National Police have detained a woman who killed a man she claims had molested and slapped her as she was walking with her two children. The woman, Fanny Raquel de los Santos, 21, said that she was walking along Magnolia Street in the barrio of Las Canitas in Santo Domingo when Edwin Jimenez Ventura, 45, approached her shouting obscenities, grabbed her buttocks, and when she protested, slapped her. In response, she told police, according to El Nuevo Diario, that she took out a knife from her purse and struck the victim, who later died at the Francisco Moscoso Puello Hospital. De los Santos added that this was not the first time that she had been attacked and abused by Jimenez Ventura whose words caused her to be uneasy all the time.
