According to a poll by Insight conducted between 11 and 14 May, Danilo Medina of the PLD will obtain 54.7% and Hipolito Mejia (PRD), 43.1%. Guillermo Moreno, Alliance Party would receive 1.2%, Eduardo Estrella, Dominicans for Change, 0.6%, and the rest of the candidates, 0.4%.
79.5% thought the election would be decided in the first round.
Danilo Medina had a rejection rate of 35% while Hipolito Mejia's stands at 45.8%.
The survey was carried out nationally with a sample of 1,200 eligible voters and a margin of error of 2.9%, as reported in El Nuevo Diario.
