Indiana University junior Nicholas Schwab will be representing the Dominican Republic in the 200-meter freestyle event at the London Olympics.

While he was born in the Miami, Florida, he will swim for the Dominican Republic taking on the birthright through his Dominican mother, Anelly. His father, Mark Schwab, is American. He made the Olympics qualifying time, by swimming for 1:53.80 in the 200-meter freestyle at the Indianapolis Grand Prix held 29-31 March 2012. The qualifying time was 1:54.95. Schwab is a junior at Indiana University, but has also swum for Florida Atlantic University.

Born on 24 August 1990, Nicholas is a graduate of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, where he was a two-time Florida state champion.
