Girlfriend accused in murder of Colombian

The girlfriend of the main suspect in the murder of Colombian Maribel Buritica, 34, in Punta Cana was arrested yesterday, accused of being an accomplice in the case. Catherin Matas Morales, 20, is accused along with David Joel Toribio (Big Papi), 32, of the murder on 4 May. Toribio reportedly told the Police that they carried out the murder on instructions from a Canadian named Gordon Wilson, who promised to pay them US$1,000 for the "job." Toribio led the Police to locate a body thought to be Buritica's. The corpse was partially burned. Toribio said that after committing the murder in Friusa, Bavaro, they put the body in her car and dumped it on the roadside of the Autovia del Este, on the stretch between San Pedro de Macoris and Boca Chica before pouring gasoline on it and setting it on fire. They then drove to Hatillo, San Cristobal where they abandoned the vehicle. The named Gordon Wilson could not be reached for questioning, as he is said to have left the country.
