South Africa's currency retreated 0.9 percent to 8.3988 per dollar by 11:09 am in Johannesburg, bringing its two-day retreat to 2.1 percent. The yield on the nation's 6.75 percent bonds due 2021 increased six basis points to 7.67 percent.
