Market research company Bendixen and Amandi, which promised to donate a million pesos to the Dominican League against Cancer in the event that their predictions about the election results were not accurate, began to make contact yesterday, Tuesday 22 May, with the League in order to fulfill their promise.
They had predicted that PRD presidential candidate Hipolito Mejia would win with 52% and Danilo Medina from the PLD would receive 45%. The results were 51% Danilo Medina to 47% Hipolito Mejia.
Julia Guerra de Oller, the president of the League against Cancer, told El Caribe that she had received an e-mail from Sergio Bendixen, president of Bendixen asking for bank details to make the transfer.
