Grenade kills two in Villa Altagracia

A grenade being handled by a former army member exploded killing two and injuring two others in Villa Altagracia on Sunday, 27 May. The deceased were identified as Wilfredo Polanco, a former soldier who was handling the grenade in the patio of his house, and Francis Paula Diroche, 13, who did not make it to the Dario Contreras Hospital alive. Two other people were seriously injured, including a two-year old, in the tragedy that occurred yesterday. The former soldier thought the grenade was no longer live and when he handled it, it exploded.
