Listin Diario reports that yesterday, Tuesday 29 May at around noon, quadruplets, three boys and a girl were born in Plaza de la Salud hospital to a 24-year old woman, Braudilia Montero Dotel.

The babies, all weighing between three and four pounds, are two pairs of twins born by caesarean section at 35 weeks of gestation. All four are reported to be in stable condition in the neonatal intensive care unit. Relatives said the three baby boys will be called Isaac, Isaias and Ezquiel and the baby girl is Audry Isabel. The mother is a single mother who lives in La Descubierta, Independencia province, on the border with Haiti. She is separated from the father, Juan Medina, a shared taxi driver. She was hospitalized 50 days before the birth at Plaza de la Salud, where she received special care so the babies could be born healthy.

She already has a six-year old daughter, and this pregnancy was natural, with a family history of twins.
