Professor of biology at Harvard University, Brian D. Farrell signed an agreement with Rector Mateo Quino Febrillet of the UASD yesterday, Tuesday 29 May for the digitalizing of the insect specimens in the collection of Professor Eugenio de Jesus Marcano and the plants in the UASD Herbarium, through the Professor Maria Moscoso Botanical and Zoology Institute at the UASD, as reported in Hoy. The agreement was signed as part of events celebrating the 46th anniversary of the university's Faculty of Sciences. The agreement seeks to create a database for connecting to the Department of Entomology of the Museum of Comparative Zoology of Harvard University for an exchange of information. Farrell is also Curator of Entomology at the Museum of Comparative Zoology at Harvard. Married to a Dominican, he has spent his summers in the Dominican Republic for several years.
