Dominican Vice President Rafael Francisco Alburquerque de Castro has been elected president of the 101st Session of the International Labor Conference. He is chairing the sessions attended by almost 5000 delegates from the ILO's 185 Member States in Geneva from 30 May to 15 June 2012. The conference is being conducted at the Palais des Nations and ILO Headquarters, Geneva.
"We have an agenda that goes to the heart of the uncertainties and insecurities in our societies: youth employment, social protection and rights at work," ILO Director General Juan Somavia told hundreds of delegates, including government representatives and leaders of workers' and employers' organizations from the ILO's 184 member States.
