The spokesman for the PRSC bloc of deputies, Ramon Rogelio Genao, is aspiring to lead the Chamber of Deputies as of 16 August, as part of the bill that the Reformists will send to the ruling PLD. The PRSC was an ally of the PLD in the recent elections and for this reason, Genao and the deputies who make up the bloc will announce his candidacy to the country today, Thursday 31 May, which he says "is a way to have democratic balance and participation" (in the Chamber of Deputies).

Nonetheless, PLD deputies expressed surprise at Genao's aspiration, since according to their version of events the post of president of the Chamber of Deputies was not part of the negotiations by the party leadership. Reformist Party leader Humberto Salazar clearly established that the party did not make a pact with the President-elect, Danilo Medina, based on the sharing out of public jobs or benefits in the new administration. Along these lines, he said that the leaders who have publically asked Medina for jobs or posts are not authorized by the PRSC to do so, just because the PRSC was the determining factor in Medina's first round victory.
