Soprano Ivonne Haza sang the National Anthem at a memorial event held yesterday, Wednesday 30 May, for the heroes who executed dictator Rafael Leonidas Trujillo, on 30 May 1961. The event took place in front of the monument erected on the spot where the tyrant fell as he was shot on the Sanchez Highway. The monument is in honor of the people who gave their lives to end the 31 years of suffering and denial of public freedoms.
