Police spokesman General Maximo Baez says that the Police are on the trail of the criminals who removed several high-tension cables from the Duarte Bridge. "We are going to locate these people who can be called urban terrorists to arrest them and send them to Justice," promised General Baez. He said that fixed vigilance has been set up at the bridge and that this is not the first time someone is being prosecuted for cutting the cables of bridges, including an incident in January when a police patrol caught two men in the act of cutting the cables. The Ministry of Public Works has banned heavy trucks from using the bridge for safety reasons. Trucks are being detoured to the Sanchez and Mella bridges. Around 200,000 vehicles cross the bridge every day.
