The Weather Department (Onamet) reports that the current high temperatures and humidity will continue to affect the Dominican Republic for the next few days, with lots of sunshine and little rain. Onamet recommends wearing light clothing and drinking lots of liquids to cope with the hot temperatures.
Onamet director Gloria Ceballos said that March rainfall set a new record with 503.4 millimeters in La Vega, while the normal level is 103.2mm for this time of the year. In Puerto Plata, some 416.7mm fell, when the average is 116.3. In Bonao, rain registered 447.3mm with an average of 140.3mm.
