The Police have announced the dismissal of 24 officers for serious faults in office. Listin Diario reports that one of the men who were dismissed is Captain Edward M. Candelier, son of former Police chief Pedro de Jesus Candelier. The reasons for the separation from the ranks include suspected robbery, drug trafficking, attempted homicide, sale of firearms and membership in criminal gangs.
