According to PRD secretary Geanilda Vasquez, the party will deposit documents at the Central Electoral Board (JCE) today, Wednesday 13 June, proposing Andres Bautista as the new president of the party instead of Miguel Vargas Maldonado, who was suspended from his post by a faction led by Hipolito Mejia at a meeting of the Political Commission.
She added that they had received a subpoena from the Higher Electoral Court (TSE) for Friday, 15 June when they would hear the case brought by Vargas Maldonado against the decision of the Political Commission, as reported in El Nuevo Diario.
