Yesterday, Tuesday 12 June, a single-engine Cessna aircraft crashed near the terminal of the International Cibao airport in Santiago after its engine failed. The two occupants, pilot Luis Jerez and student Luis Genao, escaped uninjured.
The aircraft was on a training flight when the accident happened and crashed in Monte Adentro to the north west of the terminal. Firefighting units from Licey, Moca and the airport attended the scene, as reported in El Dia
