The Banco Popular has announced that two automatic teller machines in Santo Domingo are now accepting cash deposits in pesos. The funds will immediately become available. The ATMs are located at the Blue Mall at Winston Churchill and Gustavo Mejia Ricart and another at the installations of the Palace of Fine Arts (Palacio de Bellas Artes) at Maximo Gomez and Independencia in Gazcue.
To make the deposit, the client needs to insert a Popular Visa Debit Card, digitize the password, and select the option Deposit. The machines accept up to 50 notes of any denomination (RD$20, RD$50, RD$100, RD$200, RD$500, RD$1,000 or RD$2,000). If more than 50 notes are deposited, the surplus will be returned. The client will receive a receipt confirming the amount deposited. The system does not accept coins, checks or notes with staples or in poor condition.
The bank has plans to roll out more of the cash deposit machines over the next few months nationwide.
