President Leonel Fernandez has received credentials from the new ambassador for Colombia, Barranquilla businessman Jabib Char Abdala. Abdala will also be concurrent ambassador in Haiti.

In Colombia, the Abdala family is the majority shareholders of the Junior Barranquilla, the city's top soccer team, and founders of Olimpica S.A., a chain of supermarkets in Colombia.

He also received credentials for Abel Coelho de Mendonca of Guinea Bissau.

Attending were also Minister of Foreign Relations Carlos Morales Troncoso and deputy Minister Jose Manuel Trullols.
