President-elect Danilo Medina has added his sister, deputy Lucia Medina, and the vice president of the Senate, Cristina Lizardo to the transition committee. In the Dominican Republic there is a long three-month period from 20 May, election day, to the 16 August inauguration date for the new President. The Medina transition committee is now made up of Gustavo Montalvo, Carlos Amarante Baret, Ruben Bichara, Cesar Prieto and San Cristobal senator Tommy Galan, plus Lucia Medina and Cristina Lizardo.
The committee members representing the Fernandez administration are Presidency Minister Cesar Pina Toribio, Minister of Planning Temistocles Montas, Presidential Administrative Minister Luis Manuel Bonetti, Controller General Simon Lizardo and Minister of Hacienda Daniel Toribio.
Cristina Lizardo is Simon Lizardo's sister.
