The Dominican Republic defeated Costa Rica yesterday, Thursday 21 June 69-51 to qualify for the semi-finals of the Centrobasket Tournament taking place in San Juan, Puerto Rico yesterday. The DR defeated Costa Rica for a third straight win. Jamaica also qualified by defeating Mexico yesterday 76-74. The other players in the semi-finals are Puerto Rico. Cuba needs to defeat Panama today to advance to the semi-finals.
Participating teams are Puerto Rico, Panama, Bahamas, Cuba and Nicaragua in Group A, and Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Virgin Islands, Mexico and Costa Rica in Group B.
