State institutions that pay high salaries, such as the banks (Central, Agriculture, Reservas, Housing etc.) as well as the Department of Taxes, and the Superintendence of Banks, have all asked the Senate commission that is studying a legislative proposal to impose controls on salaries in the Public Administration to leave out their entities. According to commission chairman Jose Maria Soto Vasquez, they also received a request from Rafael Camilo to set aside the Armed Forces and the National Police from the proposed law aimed at limiting salaries. According to Hoy's Pedro Germosen, the law seeks to set a limit on salaries but Senator Adriano Sanchez Roa told the reporter that such a new initiative did not make sense because he had already submitted a proposal that would put a cap on salaries.
