The PRD Consulting Commission discussed several proposals yesterday, Monday 2 July, including a plebiscite, moving forward the date of the National Convention and organizing a plenary of party leaders. These ideas are all aimed at finding a way out of the internal crisis affecting the opposition party. After three hours of intense debate by 40 of the 65 members, the PRD party organ headed by Enmanuel Esquea Guerrero agreed that a five-member commission would analyze the proposed initiatives and prepare a report to be presented at 4pm next Monday at the party's headquarters in the National District.
The commissioners are Tony Pena Guaba, Alfredo Pacheco, Janel Camilo, Hugo Tolentino Dipp and Carlos Javier Garcia. They also agreed to give a vote of confidence and support the measures adopted by the PRD leadership, with reference to Andres Bautista, Orlando Jorge Mera and Geanilda Vasquez. Moreover, they declared themselves to be in permanent session and ratified the leadership of the Consulting Commission that also includes Esquea Guerrero, Tony Raful as secretary and Ivellise Prats de Perez as vice-president of the commission
