Rain showers, electrical storms and occasional strong wind gusts will be felt today, Thursday 5 July and tomorrow Friday 6 July in several parts of the country due to an active tropical wave over eastern Puerto Rico that is moving westwards, according to the National Meteorological Office (Onamet). According to the latest forecast, the effects of this tropical wave will be felt most strongly in the northeast, southeast, the Cibao Valley and the Central Mountain regions. Onamet added that rains would be more frequent in the southeast, northeast and the Central Mountains, with precipitations that could reach 40 mm (1.5 inches).
