President Leonel Fernandez is in France today for a meeting with Irina Bokova, director general of the UNESCO.
Next on his 10-day European tour he will travel later today to Brussels, Belgium where he will meet Martin Schulz, the president of the European Parliament and cabinet members.
In Brussels, his agenda consists of meetings with Martin Schulz, president of the European Parliament at the European Union headquarters, and with the cabinet of the European delegation of the European Parliament to the Parliamentary Assembly. His agenda also includes a meeting with Herman Van Rompuy, president of the European Union Council.
Earlier he was in Spain and in Rome where he chaired a high-level debate at the FAO on the causes and consequences of excessive volatility and speculation in food prices at the FAO Headquarters in Rome on Friday, 6 July 2012.
He is scheduled to return on Wednesday, 11 July.
