Police arrest two in Unipollo robbery

The National Police has announced the arrest of two suspects in the recent robbery at the Unipollo poultry distributor in Cutupu, La Vega. The announcement was made by officers of the Department of Criminal Investigations of the Central Cibao Regional Command, headquartered in Santiago. They said that they had captured two of the seven men who are suspected of having participated in the robbery. According to Colonel Lorenzo Morillo, Jose Taveras (a.k.a. Josep, El Cojo or Johan) and Victor Salvador Lugo Soriano (Chulo) were members of the gang that committed the crime. They were identified by Miguel Angel Rosario Baez, the owner of a money exchange house in Jarabacoa that the gang tried to rob before raiding the poultry distributor.
