Orange Dominicana has launched its Long Term Evolution (LTE) network in the Dominican Republic following a US$150 million network investment. The upgraded network will provide faster mobile Internet services and is the first LTE network to go live in the Dominican Republic as well as one of the first in Latin America. According to Wireless Intelligence, Orange Dominicana has 3.2 million subscribers, giving it a market share of just under 35 percent.
