More than 4,000 teachers who belong to the Teacher's Medical Insurance (Semma) program have filed a class action lawsuit against its former executives. The action was filed with the National Directorate for Prosecution of Administrative Corruption. The accused, according to El Nuevo Diario, are Francisco Cruz Pascual, Fernando Adriano Conde Modesto, Marcelino Rijos Guzman and others. The plaintiffs are asking for RD$750,000,000 in compensation for damage and suffering caused by the embezzlement of the program's funds.
