The Executive Branch approved Law 174-12 yesterday, Thursday 19 July. The Supplemental Budget for the final month of the Fernandez eight consecutive years in government, amounts to RD$71,461,680,801, of which RD$70,121,680, will be disbursed by the Presidency, as reported in Hoy.
The Senate and Chamber of Deputies also approved an additional RD$390 million for the Judicial Branch and RD$300 for the Legislative Branch of government.
An additional RD$650 million is being assigned to the Central Electoral Board JCE (RD$300 million), Constitutional Court (RD$250 million) and Superior Electoral Court (RD$100 million).
Under the new law, as part of the funds allocated to the Executive Branch, RD$21.48 billion is earmarked for the Ministry of Public Works, RD$21.01 billion will be for the Treasury, RD$8.32 billion for the Presidency of the Republic; RD$4.38 billion for the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and RD$4.61 billion for the Ministry of Public Health. Hacienda will receive RD$2.28 billion and RD$1.95 will be allocated to the Ministry of Environment, among others. The Ministry of Hacienda is authorized to issue public debt for RD$20.15 billion for covering the electricity sector deficit.
The Executive Branch also issued Law 175-12 yesterday authorizing the issuance of the Treasury Securities Internal Public Debt totaling RD$20.150 billion. These resources will be used by the CDEEE to cover the electricity sector deficit.
