Yesterday, Thursday 19 July, representatives from several community organizations started a march from Salcedo that is due to end at the National Palace in Santo Domingo, in order to demand justice for the four people who were killed during the protests in mid-June.
They have left Salcedo and will go to La Vega, then to Bonao and Villa Altagracia on Saturday, 21 July, reaching Santo Domingo on Sunday, 22 July.
The march has been motivated by the protests in Salcedo which left four dead and at least 22 injured, including a minor who had to have both legs amputated. The protesters are demanding an investigation into the death of a young athlete, Hector Ramon Medina, on 12 May.
