View Full Version : Dominican Republic signs legal cooperation agreement with Russia

Radhames Jimenez Pena, attorney general of the Dominican Republic traveled to Russia to meet his colleague Yuriy Chaika and sign a legal cooperation agreement with Russia to combat organized crime. The agreement covers extradition cases, mutual legal assistance in crime. A statement from the Attorney General Office says that the agreement also covers the area of protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens and the exchange of information on the legal system and the laws of both countries. It provides the framework for meetings and consultations, academic research and training of specialists from both prosecutor general offices.

Pena traveled to Russia for meetings with the Russian authorities. He was met by Domincian ambassador to Russia Jorge Luis Perez Alvarado, and assisted by Pedro Mateo Ibert, attorney general of the Court of Appeals in San Juan de la Maguana.
