The Dominican Republic and South Korea have agreed to a pair of loans from the Funds for Cooperation for Economic Development from the Export-Import Bank of South Korea. One of the loans will be for US$36 millions and will be used to install an "intelligent traffic system" in the National District. The other loan will go towards making immigration policies more efficient.

The traffic loan will place cameras and radars at important intersections in the National District, according to Hoy. The work will be supervised by the AMET.

The second loan will be used to install what the Department of Immigration (DGM) is calling the Advanced System of Migratory Control. DGM director Jose Ricardo Taveras said that such a system would place the Dominican Republic at the forefront of immigration control.
