The Ministry of Education (MINERD) has announced that it is investing RD$300 million to prepare 20,000 classrooms in 3,000 schools nationwide for the new school year. The plan covers repairs to sanitary systems, electrical work, painting and cleaning up of school grounds.
The director general of School Maintenance, architect Julio Pena said that the public schools were being prepared for new school year that starts 20 August. He called for the Associations of Mothers, Fathers and Friends of the School (AMPAE) to help with the work.
