The IRF XVI Elite World Championship opens on Saturday, 4 August in Santo Domingo. The event will take place 4-11 August 2012. Athletes from 23 countries have registered for the competition.
The Dominican Republic is represented by Claudine Garcia, Luis Perez, Yira Portes, Maria Montero, Marinagely Delgado, Ramon de Leon and Junior Rodriguez.
The event is sponsored by the International Racquetball Federation and the Dominican Racquetball Federation and is a qualifier for the World Games to take place in Cali, Colombia in 2013. The venue is the Racquetball Pavilion at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center in Santo Domingo.
