Francisco Comarazamy, a former editor of El Caribe and Listin Diario newspapers, passed away in the afternoon of Sunday, 5 August at the age of 103. He began his journalistic career in 1936 writing for his hometown newspaper in San Pedro de Macoris.

Since his retirement in 1997 he continued to write commentaries on Dominican authors. He was the father of Dominican sports reporter Roosevelt Comarazamy, who is currently in London covering the Olympics. Francisco Comarazamy will be laid to rest on Tuesday, 6 August when his son returns from the Olympics, as reported in Listin Diario.
