Dominican Yamilet Pena did the unheard and placed sixth in the finals of the vault competition at the London Olympics on Sunday 6 August. She scored 14.516 in an event won by Romanian Sandra Raluca Izbasa (gold), McKayla Maroney (USA) silver and Maria Paseka (Russia) bronze. Fourth place went to Janine Berger and fifth went to Oksana Chusovitina (both from Germany). Canadians Brittany Rogers and Elisabeth Black took the seventh and eighth places.
