The Dominican volleyball team lost its quarterfinals game to the United States at the Olympic Games in London yesterday, Tuesday 7 August.

The US team won the first set 25-14, the second 25-21 and the last 24-22 in a closely fought match where the British audience was very supportive of the Dominican team.

"We played at a very low level in the first set, but in the next two we played much better. USA is very strong but we finished the game at a high level" said Dominican coach Marcos Kwiek, as reported by the FIVB. "I'm very happy with my team. We were in a very strong pool. It was good for us to prepare for the next Olympic Games in Rio because playing with strong teams you get much more experience. Now we will work for that and try to be at that level in 2016".
