The National Drug Control Department (DNCD) has announced plans to incinerate thousands of kilograms of cocaine, heroin, marijuana and crack on Friday 10 August, at the headquarters of the first brigade of the army located at kilometer 25 of the Duarte highway.
DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebron did not specify the quantities involved or the market value of the drugs that will be destroyed.
DNCD chief Major General Rolando Rosado Mateo and Presidential drugs advisor Dr. Marino Vinicio Castillo will oversee the event. Members of the DNCD executive, high-ranking military and police officers and members of the Public Ministry who usually attend these events will also be present, as well as members of the press.
