View Full Version : DR and Mexico sign agreement to fight crime

The Dominican Republic and Mexico have signed an agreement for mutual legal assistance in criminal investigation to fight terrorism and organized crime. Attorney Generals Marisela Morales of Mexico and Radhames Jimenez of the Dominican Republic signed the agreement at the Attorney General's office on Saturday, 11 August. The agreement also involves exchanging experiences in cases of corruption, people trafficking, narcotics and money laundering.

"We need to cooperate to effectively combat transnational crime," said Morales.

"By combining our talents and will, we will reduce the proliferation of crime," she added.

Jimenez Pena said that the Dominican Republic and Mexico have strengthened their cooperation and friendship.

"We are taking on the commitment to fight for safer societies," said Jimenez, upon signing the agreement.
