A tropical wave moving over from the eastern Caribbean is causing showers and thunderstorms. Although the wave is unlikely to increase in intensity, the National Meteorological Office (Onamet) has issued green alerts for most of the country due to rains that are expected on Monday and Tuesday as the system moves westwards. Boats are recommended to stay close to the coast, and some high wave activity is forecast, mainly for the southern coastal areas. Temperature lows of 22/23C are forecast, with highs of 29C for Santo Domingo and 33C for Santiago and Punta Cana.
